MRI BILATERAL STERNOCLAVICULAR JOINTS (PLAIN) RADIOLOGY REPORT

MRI BILATERAL STERNOCLAVICULAR JOINTS (PLAIN)

Findings:

Alignment of bilateral sternoclavicular joints is maintained. No evidence of abnormal marrow signal intensity is noted in the bones across both joints. No evidence of periarticular bony erosion or osteophytes is noted.

No evidence of joint effusion or synovial thickening or any periarticular collection is seen.

Periarticular soft tissue appears normal. No evidence of any abnormal signal intensity or focal soft tissue lesion is noted.

Note is made of PDFS hyperintense small lesions in the right infraclavicular region effacing the apex of right lung – possibility of infraclavicular lymph nodes, however infective / inflammatory etiology cannot be ruled out. Advice: CECT chest for further evaluation if clinically indicated.

ADVISED: CLINICAL CORRELATION and NCCT correlation to rule out any fracture if clinically indicated as MRI is not the modality of choice to rule out fracture.

Note:- Investigations have their limitations. Solitary investigations never confirm the final diagnosis of disease. It only helps in diagnosing the disease  in correlation to the clinical symptoms. Not meant for medico legal purposes.
