MRI BRAIN WITH EPILEPSY PROTOCOL

Clinical history: Complain of seizure.

Protocol:

Multiplanar MRI of the brain was performed using T1 weighted spin echo, T2 weighted turbo spin echo & turbo FLAIR sequences. High-resolution images of the temporal lobes were obtained using T2 weighted turbo spin echo & T1 weighted 3D gradient echo sequences in the oblique coronal plane.

OBSERVATIONS

No focal area of altered signal intensity is seen in bilateral cerebral parenchyma.

No focal lesion in brainstem and bilateral cerebellar hemispheres.

No acute infarct / intracranial hemorrhage.

Bilateral hippocampal formations are normal in size, morphology and signal intensity.

Bilateral medial temporal lobes appear normal.

Ventricles, cortical sulci and fissures are normal in size & symmetry. No midline shift.

Pituitary gland is normal. No sellar/parasellar lesion noted.

Intracranial vessels display the expected flow voids. Dural venous sinuses appear unremarkable.

Visualized paranasal sinuses & orbits are normal.

CONCLUSION:

No significant intracranial abnormality is detected.

Suggested clinical correlation and further investigations.
